During the planning of the Orchard Museum, there was a clear interest in the other major agricultural pursuit in the Valley – the wine industry. This museum shares the space on the main floor of the Laurel Packinghouse.
The British Columbia Wine Museum displays historic bottles, labels, wine-making equipment and artifacts from the rich history of viticulture and winemaking – Etruscan, Greek and Chinese. Local Okanagan artifacts and exhibitions explore the history of the region.
The Museum’s self-guided visit ends with an opportunity to taste currently available wines in the retail segment of the experience, the VQA Wine Shop which carries wines from over forty BC wineries. The shop offers daily tastings and the knowledgeable staff can help you select the perfect wine. Go to 1304 Ellis Street (inside the Historic Laurel Packinghouse)
